Title:
COLLECTING DEVICE FOR CUTTING WASTE OF OPTICAL FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6239803
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate a harmful effect caused by a cutting waste, by installing a cutting waste container communicating with a through-hole, to a holding member on which the through-hole for inserting the tip part of an optical fiber has been pierced.

CONSTITUTION: When cutting an optical fiber 13, its coating is removed by a suitable length from its tip, and its coating removed part 14 is inserted into a through-hole 5 of a holding member 4. Subsequently, the tip side of the coating removed part 14 is pushed and stopped on a plate-shaped member 1 through a holding member (not shown in the figure), the coating removed part 14 is flawed by a cutter (not shown in the figure) of a cutting apparatus, and thereafter, when the plate-shaped member 11 is curved, the coating removed part 14 is ruptured from a part of its flaw. Thereafter, the pushed-up state by the holding member is released, a press pump 9 of a suction mechanism 8 is contracted temporarily, and thereafter, when the pump 9 of a suction mechanism 8 is contracted temporarily, and thereafter, when the pump 9 is restored, its suction force reaches the through-hole 5 of the holding member 4, and the through-hole 5 and the inside of a cutting waste container 11 become a negative pressure, therefore, a cutting waste such as a broken piece, etc. of the coating removed part 14 is sucked into the cutting waste container 11 and collected.
