Abstract:

To provide a collision avoidance device allowing avoidance of collision between vehicles even when an inter-vehicle distance is short.

This collision avoidance device 1 includes a collision prediction device 10, a vehicle jump-up device 11, and a controller 12. The collision prediction device 10 is a device predicting the collision with another vehicle 200. The vehicle jump-up device 11 is a device jumping up one's own vehicle 100 from a road surface. The controller 12 exchanges information with the other vehicle 200 by communication, determines whether or not to jump up the own vehicle 100 based on information about the other vehicle 200 when the collision prediction device 10 predicts the collision with the other vehicle 200, and controls the vehicle jump-up device 11 based on a determination result. Thereby, even when the inter-vehicle distance is short, the collision between the vehicles can be avoided by jumping up the own vehicle 100 to make the own vehicle 100 pass over the other vehicle 200.
