This collision testing apparatus related includes a test body 1 mounted with a dummy doll 11 imitating an occupant, a drive device 2 making the test body 1 travel, and a deceleration device 3 decelerating the test body 1 by a collision. The deceleration device 3 contains a damper 31 colliding with the test body 1, a shaft 32 having the damper 31 at the tip and extending in an advance direction of the test body 1, a main body 33 supporting the shaft 32, a brake device 34 arranged on the main body 33 and applying loads of the advance direction and a nearly vertical direction of the test body 1 to the outer surface of the shaft 32, and a control device 35 controlling the loads to be applied by the brake device 34.
