Abstract:
To obtain colloidal fine particles having high dispersion stability and storage stability even when the concentration of the particles is high.
The colloidal particles are produced by raising the temperature of a dispersion of inorganic or organic particles and a nonionic surfactant to a temperature not lower than the cloud point of the surfactant to thereby deposit the surfactant on the surface of the inorganic or organic particles. The colloidal fine particles may be combined with various binders (comprising e.g. an acrylic resin emulsion, a urethane resin emulsion, and an epoxy based emulsion) to form a coating composition.
