Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve vertical resolution and overall screen brightness by two times by employing two electron beam.

CONSTITUTION: Plural number of color phosphor lines CL extending along main scanning direction of electron beam or horizontal X-direction and R(red), G (green), B(blue) in sub-scanning direction or vertical Y direction are arranged alternatively on inner face of face plate FP of screen SC. Two electron beams from an electron gun will scan two lines at a time where under reproduction of odd number field, odd number lines CL1, CL3 are scanned simultaneously in specific single horizontal interval OD-H1 in odd number field interval while under reproduction of even number field, even number lines CL2, CL4 are scanned simultaneously. Consequently scanning horizontal lines can be doubled to improve vertical resolution by two times while to improve overall screen brightness by two times as required.
