PURPOSE: To change the colors of color images at a high speed and in a natural way with a color change processing system for color images which changes the colors of objects contained in the color images.
CONSTITUTION: The color data on each picture element of an object image are expressed in an addition vector that includes an object color vector which is multiplied by the coefficient value K1, an illumination light vector which is multiplied by the coefficient value K2, and a secondary reflected light vector which is multiplied by the coefficient value K3 respectively. Then a coefficient value calculating means 16 calculates the coefficient value Ki of each picture element based on those designated vectors and the color data on the object image. In such a constitution, the color data on each picture element is calculated from the given color change condition vector and the calculated value Ki. Under such conditions, only the coefficient value Kj is calculated for the vector which varies before and after the change of colors. Thus the color data on each picture element can be calculated from the vector which is prescribed by the value obtained by multiplying the value Kj and its corresponding differential vector set before anti after the change of colors and the total vector of the unchanged color data.
