PURPOSE: To obtain a copy having an optimum color tone by detecting the spectral density of an original screen, and adjusting the exposure light quality and the light quantity so that a copy image having a color tone whose hue lightness and saturation are corrected can be obtained by its detecting information.
CONSTITUTION: As for a spectral density detector 120, condensing lenses 122A, 112B and 122C to which interference filters 123A, 123B and 123C for allowing only each primary color light of C, M and Y to transmit through are installed so that each spectral density of an original surface of a prescribed range K can be caught are provided in the vicinity of a lens barrel part of a projection lens of an image exposure. Also, in a position in the vicinity of a focus behind each lens, photosensors 124A, 124B and 124C are installed, and each spectral density is caught and detected exactly. When the spectral density of the original surface is detected by the first scan, an arithmetic operation of a combination of the filters and its insertion quantity, and an arithmetic operation of a diaphragm quantity are executed during the timer time by its data, the first color balance filter plate 61 is controlled, based on the arithmetic operation, and when this control is completed, the second color balance filter plate 62 is controlled, based on the same arithmetic operation, and when its control is completed, the diaphragm is controlled, based on the arithmetic operation.
