PURPOSE: To improve inspection accuracy by a method wherein a plurality of color sensors are calibrated to reduce errors between equipment, a colorimetry is performed to ascertain that the calibration is accomplished correctly and a color difference inspection is started only when colorimetric values of the sensors, a color difference from a reference color value and errors between the equipment are below preset values.
CONSTITUTION: A white plate is fixed on a linear motor and moved to positions of three color sensors to perform a white calibration for calibrating an absolute value of the colorimetric values of the sensors. Then, a textile sample as reference is mounted on the motor as reference calibration plate and a colorimetry is performed sequentially with the three sensors to determine a correction factor from the colorimetric values with a computer so that errors between equipment are reduced. To ascertain that the calibration is accomplished correctly, a color difference is determined by performing a colorimetry of the reference correction plates in the opposite procedure with he three sensors. When the color difference is above a small value preset, a remeasurement is conducted from the colorimetry of a reference color. When it is below the value, the color difference between the equipment is calculated and only when the results are smaller than a set value, the calibration and the ascertainment are decided to be completed.
