Abstract:
To provide a color filter using a black matrix which reduces reflectivity, has a thin layer, and has high optical density (OD).
The color filter has two or more colored pixel groups, each of which is constituted of a colored layer on a light transmissive substrate and exhibits mutually different color, and respective colored pixels constituting the colored pixel group are separated from one another by a light shielding image. The light shielding image contains at least a polymer compound, metal particles and/or metal compound particles and a black pigment. In a display incorporating the color filter, contrast in a bright room is 50:1 or more.
