PURPOSE: To uniformly and beautifully reproduce a pastel color or a light color by printing the color in previous set ratio by means of making density high when the density is equal to or below a threshold for reproducing a light color and printing a white color with the previously set density.

CONSTITUTION: A picture element includes two or less color out of yellow 9, magenta 8 and cyan 7 and includes either magenta 8 or the cyan 7 in the two or less color. As to the picture element of the pastel color or the light color whose input density of all the colors of the two or less color is equal to or below the previously set threshold for reproducing the light color, each color of the two or less color is printed in the previously set ratio by making the density high. The white color 6 is printed with previously set density and mixed with the white. The pastel color or the light color is uniformly and beautifully reproduced without making discrete dots conspicuous.
