PURPOSE: To perform color correction for a color image in a short time by providing a specifying means for selecting and specifying an original or a recording paper after forming the image and a correcting means for correcting the color of light reflected on the original so that each color may become the same based on the respective colors detected by a color sensor at the time of specifying the original and the recording paper by the specifying means.

CONSTITUTION: The color sensor 36 constituted of a detecting part 36a, an original switch 36b and a copying switch 36c is connected to the main body of a copying machine 1 by a cable 37 for detecting the color of the original 4 and the color developing sheet 33 after forming the image. And when the original 4 or the recording paper 33 after forming the image is specified by the specifying means, the detection result by the color sensor 36 is fetched by the correcting means, and the light reflected on the original 4 is color- corrected so that each color may become the same based on the detected result which is fetched at the time of specifying the original and at the time of specifying the recording paper. Thus, the color correction of the light reflected on the original can be automatically performed, so that color correcting work for the color image can be easily performed by anyone.
