PURPOSE: To prevent difference from occurring between an actual actuating frequency and the counted value of a counter even when urgent stop is executed by obtaining such constitution that count is controlled based on the ejecting state of a paper and a condition whether a color developing device is used or not.
CONSTITUTION: At an urgent stop time, the counter 38 for displaying the number of copied sheets is reset to an initial value by a CPU 37 and normal count-up is executed by the total counter 39, the key counter 40, a PM counter 41 and the color counter 42. For example, the count-up is executed by the counter 42 in the case that the developing bias outputs of the corresponding developing devices 25-27 are changed to be turned off from on until the urgent stop from the input of an urgent stop signal. In the case that such change does not occur, the count-up is not executed. Since the normal count-up is executed by the counters 39, 40, 41 and 42 even at the urgent stop time in such a manner, the actuation of the device is counted when the device is actually actuated and it is not counted when the device is not actuated.
