PURPOSE: To obtain an image having excellent image quality with an excellent image plane by incorporating PVA in at least one layer of the sepn. surface between a photosensitive material and a dye fixing material to improve separability and to prevent rough film surface on the surface of the dye fixing material after the sepn.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive material having silver halide, a binder and a dye donative material on a base is exposed and heated and the mobile dye formed or released by the same is moved and fixed to the dye fixing layer on the dye fixing material side, by which an image is formed and is separated from said photosensitive material. PVA is incorporated in at least one layer of the layers having such sepn. surface. The PVA is preferably incorporated in the side having the dye fixing layer in order to improve production efficiency and image quality. Such PVA fixes the dye without interfering the movement of the dye and smooths the operation for stripping the photosensitive material and the dye fixing material after the image formation and prevents the rough surface of the dye fixing material. A color image having excellent image quality with an excellent image plane is thus obtd.
