In the color image processing method, based on RGB image data of a display apparatus of RGB stripe arrangement, an image data of the display apparatus in which sub-pixels of R, G, B and W are arranged in matrix, is generated. In order to generate each image data of three sub-pixels adjoining each other in the same line, two pixel portion of the RGB image data adjoining each other in the same line is held, and each image data of two sub-pixels arranged in both ends among three sub-pixels is converted, based on one pixel portion of the RGB image data corresponding to each sub-pixel, of two pixel portion of the RGB image data. The image data of the sub-pixel arranged in a center of three sub-pixels, is generated, based on two pixel portion of the RGB image data.
