Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the satisfactory result even without performing any complicated calculation by collating the color range of an image generated by a 1st device with the color range of a 2nd device to be used for reproducing that image.
CONSTITUTION: Digital color data are sent from a color image information generating source 10 through lines 14 and 16 to an image reproducing device 12. At a receiving and judging means 20, the color image data are received from the generating source 10 and it is judged whether a previously selected color value equal with an input color value exists in an LUT 22 or not. When that value exists in the LUT 22, a correspondent derived value is identified and sent through the line 16 to the input of the device 12. When such a value is not found in the LUT 22, the input value is sent to an interpolator 24 and while using the data from the LUT 22, the correspondent derived value is calculated by interpolation. The calculated value provided by this interpolation is sent through the line 16 to the input of the device 12.
