To provide a color imaging device which can adjust a position for the start of writing in a main scan direction with high precision.
When generating a main scan synchronizing signal 12 by a frequency synthesizing means 2, for example, a sampling frequency of a beam detection signal 9, is increased to a frequency level not less than 8 times the frequency at image output, then an image clock is generated by switching the frequency not less than 8 time as much to the frequency at image output after a lapse of a specified period, and thus a main scan image region signal 16 is generated. Consequently, it is possible to generate the main scan synchronizing signal with high precision and adjust the timely output of the main scan image region signal with high precision. For this reason, a positional deviation of the image in the main scan direction can be adjusted with high precision and a high quality image can be obtained as a useful effect.
