PURPOSE: To improve the color reproducibility of a color image by reproducing the image so that the brightness of a white image is nearly equal to that of a complete diffuse reflection surface.

CONSTITUTION: A Fresnel hologram is photographed on a hologram dry plate 15 by making an object light 13 from a subject 12, irradiated with laser lights 11 of red(R), green(G), and blue(B), interfere with a reference light (RGB laser light) 14, thereby forming a master hologram 17. Image type Lippmann holograms are formed on a hologram dry plate 20 with a reference light (RGB laser light) 19 by using reproduced images 18 of respective master holograms 12 by an object light (RGB laser light) 15. At this time, the size of the respective master holograms 17 is limited so that the brightness of a white image in a hologram image is nearly equal to that of the complete diffuse reflection plate (white surface). Then, the image type Lippmann holograms of R, G, and B are put one over another to form the color Lippmann hologram.
