PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display device which is excellent in reliability and is improved in transmittance and a process for producing of high efficiency of such color liquid crystal display device.
SOLUTION: One substrate 100a holding a liquid crystal layer 40 has color filter layers 12 having plural colored resin layers 12a, 12b, 12c, high-polymer walls 18 covering the boundary portions of the two adjacent colored resin layers within the plural colored resin layers and transparent electrodes covering at least part of these high-polymer walls. The liquid crystal layer has plural liquid crystal regions 40a divided by the high-polymer walls. The liquid crystal molecules 42 in the plural liquid crystal regions are axisymmetrically aligned around the axis perpendicular to the surfaces of the substrates at least when voltage is applied.
