Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the difficulty in positioning at the time of two substrates are stucked together, to eliminate a voltage drop across the internal resistance of a filter layer, and to uniformly orient liquid crystal between picture element electrodes and a counter electrode since there is no uneven part on the picture element electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal 3 is charged between the substrates 1 and 2 which are arranged opposite each other, one substrate 1 is provided with the picture element electrodes 8 which are connected to a driving circuit 7, and the other substrate 2 is provided with the counter electrode 9 to constitute the liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal layer 3 is held between the opposite substrates 1 and 2 where the picture element electrodes 8 are formed of transparent conductive films containing pigment, at least one of the substrates 1 and 2 is provided with the semiconductor driving circuit 7, and the picture element electrodes 8 are connected to the driving circuit 7.
