PURPOSE: To provide the device which does not require a smoothing process and cost by constituting at least one sheet of two sheets of light transparent substrates of a plastic film material and laminating a substrate with color filters on the outer side of the substrate consisting of the plastic film.

CONSTITUTION: The light transparent substrate 11 is the substrate consisting of a material, such as glass or plastic and faces to the plastic film substrate 12. Transparent electrodes 15 are formed on the substrates 11, 12 and further, an oriented film material, such as polyimide, is applied on the inner front surface thereof. Two sheets of these substrates 11, 12 are stuck to each other and are sealed at the periphery by a sealing resin 17. A liquid crystal material 18 is filled between the substrates 11 and 12. Spacer particles 19 hold two sheets of the substrates 11, 12 at a specified spacing. Further, the color filters 13 formed on the substrate 14 by another stage is laminated on the plastic film substrate 12 of the liquid crystal panel, by which color display is enabled.
