Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display which can make a color display with good resolution. CONSTITUTION:A color filter is not incorporated in a liquid crystal cell 9 unlike before and a back light 1 whose light emission color can be controlled in real time is provided as a light source; and this display is equipped with a means which switches images corresponding to light emission colors on a time-division basis in synchronism with a change in the light emission color of the back light while switching the light emission color of the back light on a time-division basis. Therefore, only one picture element is required to display a color, so efficiency in resolution is good.
