To obtain comparatively high blue sensitivity by forming a silver halide emulsion layer sensitized with a specified monomethine cyanine dye.
The color photographic sensitive material has at least one silver halide emulsion layer spectrally sensitized in the blue region with the monomethinecyanine dye characterized by having the formula in which each of R1-R5 is an H or halogen atom or an alkyl, methoxy, aryl, 1-pyrrolyl, 2- pyrrolyl group or the like; each of R6 and R7 is an alkyl, sulfoalkyl, carboxyalkyl, -(CH2)n-SO2-NH-SO2-alkyl group or the like; X is an -O-, -S-, -Se- atom, or the like; (a) is an H atom or an aromatic group or a group necessary to form a condensed benzene ring together with (b); (b) is a group necessary to complete the condensed benzene ring together with (a) or (c); (c) is an H atom or an aromatic group or a group necessary to complete the condensed benzene ring together with (b) or (d); and ((A) is an anion present in some case.
