PURPOSE: To obtain a sensitive material suitable for use as a thin layer type sensitive material, giving high dye density and capable of preventing color fog by short- time processing by adding a (co)polymer having specified sulfonylhydroquinone residues as a scavenger for the oxidant of a developer.
CONSTITUTION: To an emulsion layer, an intermediate layer or other layer of a sensitive material is added a homopolymer or a copolymer having repeating units represented by the formula (where A is a divalent group; n is 1 or 2; R1 is H, halogen or alkyl; each of R2WR4 is H, halogen or optionally substituted alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, amino, amylamino or sulfonamido; R3 and R4 may bond to each other to form a condensed ring; and the total C number of R2, R3 and R4 is ≤60). Thus, a sensitive material contg. a scavenger for a developer and not causing trouble such as interlaminar trnasfer or inferior adhesion due to a reduction in thickness is obtd.
