Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten total time required for printing job by arranging image converting means at a host and a printer, judging whether the host or printer is to be used for performing image conversion so as to reduce a transfer data amount through the host and determining which image converting means is to be utilized.
SOLUTION: A host 1 transfers image data prepared on an application through a printer driver to a printer 2. When it is judged, by an image conversion discriminating means 11, that image converting processing is to be performed by the host 1 so as to reduce the transfer data amount, a first image converting means 12 performs image converting processing on the host 1. A receiving means 21 of the printer 2 receives print data from the host 1 and an analytic means 22 judges whether image converting processing is already performed by the image converting means 12 of the host 1 or not and it is selected whether image conversion is to be performed by an image converting means 23. Based on the analyzed result of the analytic means 22, the image converting means 23 performs image converting processing at the printer 2.
