Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance convenience by displaying the type of ink to be used on an image display, detecting the residual quantity of ink through a detecting means, and displaying the residual quantity of ink on the image display based on the detection results.
SOLUTION: A color video printer 1 is arranged such that a microcomputer 6 delivers signals for various messages through a CRT control section 7 and various messages are displayed on the screen of a monitor television 3. The microcomputer 6 can select the type of ribbon and the residual quantity of ribbon is store in a memory. When a residual button of a key unit 2 is depressed, type and residual quantity of ribbon are displayed on the monitor television 3. Since the type or the residual quantity of ribbon is displayed on the monitor television 3 for displaying an image to be printed, a convenient printer can be attained.
