That is, at the time of the initialization, the ribbon is once rewound. Thereafter, the motor 24 is forward rotated. The gear 28 is moved clockwise by the forward rotation of the motor 24, engaged with an idle gear 30, a take-up side gear 5a is rotated counterclockwise and the ribbon is taken up. A process for detecting a cueing mark is executed by the taking-up, and Y(yellow) is cued.
