PURPOSE: To attempt speedy printing and obtain printer for which transfer printing ribbons, etc. are easily manufactured, by locating a plurality of thermo- printing heads of single color construction in the direction of arrangement normally intersecting with an rotary axis of roller.

CONSTITUTION: Each thermo-printing head 1 is provided with a cartridge 5 containing a reeled single-color ink transfer-printing ribbon, and further, each head is located on the periphery of roller through angles of t1, t2, t3, intersecting vertically with a rotary axis 6 of roller. A plurality of thermo-printing heads 1 fixed on an anchor 7, by revolutions of spindle screw 8, is subjected to righthand direction scanning of arrow mark 10 and transfer printing of serial dot prints is performed. For selection of color the reference head (representing a head indicated with the OA arrow) is installed and time required for displacing angles t1, or t2, t3 for said head is controlled by timing control of head driving operation. This kind of timing control pulse is aligned for position with a selecting head by means of a timing pulse proportional to a rotational position delivered from a rotary encoder directly connected with a rotary shaft 6 of roller.
