PURPOSE: To enable to record with high resolution by a compact construction, by a method wherein a one-sheet amount of a rolled paper incorporated in a drum is drawn out, the thus drawn-out paper is fitted around the surface of the drum, and color recording is conducted by a recording head while rotating the drum by a number of times corresponding to the number of primary colors.

CONSTITUTION: The rolled paper 4 maintained in a rolled condition by a pressure spring 11 is incorporated in the drum 8, the leading end of the paper is fixed by a fixing part 20 for drawing out the paper, the drum 8 is rotated by one rotation to draw out the paper by a one-sheet amount, the paper is fixed by a paper presser 9 by using a fitting/detaching part 19, and is fitted to the surface of the drum 8 covered by a heat-resistant elastic material layer 10. Then, recording in each color is conducted by a thermal head 1 through a color ink film 3 while rotating the drum 8 by a number of times corresponding to the number of the primary colors used. After recorder is completed for all of the colors, a cutter-feeding part 18 is operated, the paper presser 9 is opened, and the paper is discharged through a discharging port 21. Accordingly, the size of the recorder is reduced, accuracy in recording can be secured by only the accuracy in rotating the drum, and an image with high resolution can be obtained.
