PURPOSE: To eliminate hitch of a color ribbon and prevent color mixture and soil of papers.

CONSTITUTION: A ribbon cartridge 1 is attached to a carrier 9 by a pivot 3. A cam follower 2 is provided on the ribbon cartridge 1 in such a manner that it passes the central point of the pivot 3 and the central axis thereof is on a vertical axis with respect to the ribbon cartridge 1. The cam follower 2 abuts against a color change cam 7. The pivot 3 is movable up and down along a slot 9a provided on the carrier 9. A fixing plate 4b is fixed to the carrier 9 under which a push plate 4a and springs 5a-5c are arranged. The push plate 4a is attached to the ribbon cartridge 1 and is being pressed from the top thereof by the fixing plate 4b and the springs 5a-5c. Accordingly, a color ribbon and a print head are always in parallel with each other.
