Yellow, magenta and cyan thermal heads 21, 22, 23 are successively arranged along a feed passage of color thermal recording paper 15 from an upstream side and a full-color image is recorded in a surface sequence manner by one feed of the color thermal recording paper 15. Fixing devices 37, 38 optically fix yellow and magenta thermal color forming layers after yellow and magenta images are recorded. Shutter mechanisms 70, 71 are provided to the fixing devices 37, 38 and each of them is provided with a shutter curtain 74 cutting off ultraviolet rays and a shutter feed roller pair 78 nipping the curtain to move the same. Each shutter curtain is nipped between nip rollers to be moved along with the color thermal recording paper to cut off light so that the unrecorded part on the rear end side of an image recording area is not fixed.
