PURPOSE: To dispense with welding so as to improve productivity and facilitate quality control and standhrdization.

CONSTITUTION: A base plate 5 is bolt-jointed using split tees 2 instead of welding, that is, a pair of split tees 2 are jointed in friction grip by high strength bolts 3 to the lower ends of the flanges 1a of a column 1 formed of H-shape steel so as to provide the base plate 5 overlapped with the whole lower faces of both split tees 2. This base plate 5 is placed on a foundation 8, and the bottom piece parts 2b of both split tees 2 are clamp-fixed to anchor bolts 9 piercing these bottom piece parts 2b and base plate 5. The web parts 1a of the column 1 and the base plate 5 may be further bolt-jointed by angle members for further reinforcement.
