Abstract:
To provide a column member and a column base structure capable of increasing energy absorption capacity in a column base by making a base plate easy to yield, while securing rigidity in a column base part.SOLUTION: Anchor bolt holes 11 are provided in the vicinity of four corners of a base plate 3. Also, cutouts are provided and thin wall parts 9 are formed on the rear surface side at least in the vicinity of the four corners of the base plate 3, including the portions of the anchor bolt holes 11. The thin wall part 9 is not formed at a base part of a column 5. A straight line passing a center of gravity position of the anchor bolt hole 11 and orthogonal to a diagonal line of the base plate 3 is defined as a reference line E. Also, a straight line of the base part of the column 5 in parallel with the reference line E is defined as G, and a straight line at the portion closest to the column 5 out of the straight lines which are in parallel with the reference line E and pass only the thin wall part 9 is defined as F.
