PURPOSE: To provide a comber so designed as to dispose a drive for the turning motion of upper and/or lower nippers just over the cam drive of a combing roller drive to suppress a mobile mass to a minimum without using any extra row of gears.

CONSTITUTION: This comber works as follows: a cam plate 10 is turned in response to the rotation of the shaft 6 of a combing roller 1, the lever arm 18 of a turning lever 16 is then turned, with the result that a lower nipper holding section 23 is turned around a shaft 22 and concurrently the upper nipper holding section 27 is turned around the centerline 48 of a shaft 29, thereby the lower nipper 24 and the upper nipper 25 perform an opening/closing action.
