PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a composition capable of suppressing the proliferation of various microorganisms and applicable to external use for skin. SOLUTION: This active compound combination comprises (1) one or more substances selected from the group consisting of monoglycerol monoesters of monocarboxylic acids, diglycerol monoesters of monocarboxylic acids, triglycerol monoesters of monocarboxylic acids, monoglycerol monoesters of dicarboxylic acids, monoesters of dicarboxylic acids and (2) one or more dialkyl-substituted acetic acids of the formula (R1 is a 1-12C branched or unbranched alkyl group; R2 is a 1-24C branched or unbranched alkyl group).
