PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a light duty hydrocarbon by subjecting a Conradson carbon-contg. hydrocabonaceous material to a coking treatment under specific conditions, then filtering and separating a heavy duty oil fraction, recirculating the same, hydroconverting the formed hydrocabonaceous filtrate and filtering and recirculating a suspension.
CONSTITUTION: The hydrocabonaceous feed having ≥5 wt.% Conradson carbon content is treated under the coking condition of 0 to 7.03 Kg/cm2 gauge pressure within a coking zone 1, by which the coke and gaseous product contg. the hydrocabonaceous material consisting of components having a b.p. above 523.8°C are formed. The heavy duty residue fraction is separated to obtain the solid- contg. fraction and the hydrocabonaceous filtrate through a microfilter device 3. Next, part of the solid-contg. fraction is recirculated to the coking zone 2 and a hydroconversion catalyst 48 is added to part of the hydrocabonaceous filtrate to hydroconvert the filtrate in the presence of hydrogen 50 in a slurry- hydroconversion zone 4, by which the hydroconversion oil is formed. This oil is then fed to the filter device 6 where the solid is removed. This solid is recirculated to the slurry-hydroconversion zone.
