Abstract:

To provide a compatible system for a data storage system.

A combination containing a cartridge drive family and a cartridge family contains the cartridge drive family and the cartridge family. A first cartridge drive contains a first protruded pattern 32. A second cartridge drive contains a second protruded pattern 32. A first cartridge contains a first recessed pattern 62 receiving the first protruded pattern 32, and completely inserting the first cartridge into the first cartridge drive. A second cartridge contains a second recessed pattern 62 receiving the second protruded pattern 32 and completely inserting the second cartridge into the second cartridge drive. The second protruded pattern 32 interrupts the complete insertion of the first cartridge into the second cartridge drive. The first protruded pattern 32 interrupts the complete insertion of the second cartridge into the first cartridge drive.
