Abstract:
To provide a combination of a cylinder made of aluminum alloy and a piston ring which has excellent initial conformability, anti-seizure property and abrasion resistance performance and can be made to slide each other directly.
A cylinder 1 is composed of aluminum alloy with Si content of 7-20 wt.%. A piston ring 2 has a hard film 4 of diamond-like carbon around the outer periphery.
