Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination of an oil ring groove and an oil ring of a piston which can suppress the boost-up of oil through an abutment part of a side rail of a three-piece oil ring, and is excellent in an oil consumption property.SOLUTION: In a combination of an oil ring groove and an oil ring of a piston, the oil ring groove is formed of a main space which is deep in a groove depth, and an expanded space which is shallow in a groove depth at a combustion chamber side, the oil ring is formed of a pair of annular side rails having an abutment part, a spacer expander having an ear part which is interposed between a pair of the annular side rails, presses internal peripheral faces of the side rails to an internal peripheral part, and an annular auxiliary ring having an abutment part, and having self-tension. The upper side rail at the combustion chamber side is made to abut on an upper side face of the main space, and the auxiliary ring is accommodated in the expanded space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
