Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring that reduces a blowby amount and oil consumption and prevents the occurrence of ring breakage over a long period of time, in an engine making internal pressure of a cylinder high.SOLUTION: In a steel combination piston ring which is housed in a ring groove formed on an outer peripheral surface of a piston and which comprises upper and lower annular rings having an abutment joint, engagement surfaces engaged with each other are provided on a downside surface of the upper ring and an upside surface of the lower ring. The engagement surfaces each assumes a shape with a circumferential inclination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
