Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily transfer to a final material to be transferred by obtaining a retransfer material having a print image of satisfactory quality under a transfer mechanism and environmental condition by a combination of a thermal transfer recording medium and support. SOLUTION: A surface treatment layer 12 of a support 10 for retransfer material contains 40 wt.% of wax having a melting point of 85 deg.C or higher. And, a melting point of the layer 12 is higher by 15 deg.C or higher than that of a thermal transfer recording medium 1. Thus, an ink layer 3 of a heating site is effectively transferred to a side of the layer 12 to obtain a print image A1 of satisfactory quality. Further, since the layer 12 of the composition has satisfactory tearability and releasability from a base material 11 at the time of pressurizing, the image A is released at an interface between the layer 12 and the material 11 to obtain a satisfactory retransferred image. Moreover, the thermally transferable ink layer 3 preferably contains 50 wt.% or more of wax having a melting point of 60 deg.C or higher and 85 deg.C or higher of homologous series of the wax having the melting point of 85 deg.C or higher of the layer 12.
