To provide a combined carbonization and drying apparatus which has a very simple and compact structure, can be manufactured at low cost, and can effectively use waste heat generated from a carbonization apparatus for drying.
In the combined carbonization and drying apparatus 1, a carbonization raw material is carbonized in a low oxygen environment with a burner in a carbonization apparatus 2; hot wind generated in the carbonization is allowed to flow into a carbonization chimney 34 through a first heat path; and the hot wind is sent into a drying chamber 138 through a third heat path 54 along with heat generated in an exhaust gas combustion chamber 30 to dry a raw material to be dried in the drying chamber 138. When a burner is ignited in a drive chamber 136, the hot wind sent into the drying chamber 138 is recirculated to the carbonization chimney 34 of the carbonization apparatus 2 through a second heat path 52 along with the heat generated by the burner, sent into the drying chamber 138 again, and used for drying of the raw material to be dried. Thus, in the combined carbonization and drying apparatus 1, heat can be circulated at a very high efficiency, and a carbonization product and a dried product can be separately removed.
