Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of production for settlement due to consolidation of filled ground by performing a consolidation test by reproducing the changes in load, thickness of consolidation layer and drainage distance of each earth fill layer in the process of creating the land, in which the changes are approximated to the actual conditions of land creation.
SOLUTION: In a creation of land for filled ground H, a surcharge by a filling material increases stepwise as filling height uncrosses by the progress of the construction work, the surcharge becomes larger in a filled layer located at a lower layer, and a drainage distance between the upper end and lower end of filled ground H becomes longer. Because of this, pressuring forces Δσv1, Δσv2 and Δσv3 to specimens T1, T2 and T3 corresponding to each fill layers H1, H2 and H3 of the filled ground H are varied in response to the surcharge acting to each fill layers H1, H2 and H3, and consolidation chambers housing the specimens T1, T2 and T3 are connected in series through the upper and lower drainage channels 16 and 17 thereby a accurately reproducing situation of settlement due to consolidation and the situation of drainage of actual filled ground H.
