Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the combined filament yarns capable of giving fabrics excellent in dimensional stability and drapeability with soft and dry touch, made up of core yarn comprising conjugate fibers composed of a specific copolyester and other fiber-forming polymer(s) and sheath yarn comprising cellulosic fibers.
CONSTITUTION: The objective combined filament yarns are made up of (A) core yarn comprising conjugate fibers composed of (1) a copolyester consisting of (a) dicarboxylic acid unit as acid component, (b) 0-30wt.% of diol unit of formula O-(R1-O)m (R1 is alkylene; m is 10-100) and (c) 1-30wt.% of side chain unit of formula I (R2 is alkylene; R3 is 1-18C hydrocarbon group; n is 10-100; x and y are each 0 or l) (both the b and c units totaling 1-30wt.%) and (2) at least one kind of other fiber-forming polymer and (B) sheath yarn comprising cellulosic fibers. A dicarboxylic acid unit of formula II (Ar is trivalent aromatic group; M is metal atom) accounts for 1-10 (pref. 1-7)mol% of the whole acid component.
