PURPOSE: To provide a combined mechanical and absorptive refrigeration method and apparatus having some advantages of absorption refrigeration and mechanical expansion refrigeration.

CONSTITUTION: In a combined absorption refrigeration and mechanical expansion refrigeration method and apparatus for use in chilling cooling medium, the mechanical cooling system is continuously connected to an absorption cooling system during a cooling period in order to chill an external air adjusting machine alternatively. In addition, the absorption system is operated during a restoring period in order to condense inner absorption solution and store it and then it is connected in order to store the inner dilute cooling liquid to be activated during a cooling period.
