Abstract:
To provide a means for treating or preventing carnosine-related diseases, and for improving health, improving athletic ability, aging prevention, improving skin health state, and preventing adverse effects caused by an alcoholic drink.
The combined use of a carnosinase inhibitor with L-carnosine for treating or preventing the carnosine-related diseases of a human and other mammalian animals is provided. As the carnosinase inhibitor, at least 1 kind selected from β-alanine, an N-alkanoyl-β-alanine derivative, an N-alkanoyl-L-carnosine derivative and bestatins is preferable. The combined use of the carnosinase inhibitor with L-carnosine and the composition of them are useful in the fields of a medicine, cosmetic, foodstuff and beverage.
