PURPOSE: To maintain a stable combustion even when the difference between the calorific values of strong and weak combustion is made larger, by a method wherein a partition plate is provided around the periphery of a burner port in a combustion chamber and an air guide vane is provided in the combustion chamber to introduce air from a convection blower into the combustion chamber as secondary combustion air.
CONSTITUTION: A combustion drum 5 consists of a combustion chamber 3 and a burner box 4, and is divided into upper and lower two sections by a partition plate 14 located at the elevation of a burner port. Secondary combustion air 17 is sent from a convection blower 9 into the combustion chamber 3 through an opening 34 on the rear of the combustion chamber 3, guided by a guide vane 18 and acts on the combustion flame. The combustion exhaust gas is discharged outside the combustion chamber 3 through an opening 31 at the upper part of the combustion chamber 3 by the draft effect of air sent from the convection blower 9 and released into a room through a louver 6 as warm air after mixed with indoor air taken in by the convection blower 9. Thereby, combustion state is stabilized, so that the calorific value can be reduced during weak combustion and an enough amount of secondary combustion air can be taken in during strong combustion.
