To provide a combustion device enabling complete combustion of combustion gas to heat efficiency of a reformer, and having excellent durability.
The combustion device includes a flame plate provided with a second combustion gas ejection part to surround a first combustion gas ejection part provided at the center part, a second combustion gas chamber communicated with the second combustion gas ejection part at the upstream of the flame plate, and a second combustion gas swirling/ejecting means for ejecting second combustion gas to a direction nearly orthogonal to an ejection direction of first combustion gas and so as to make a swirl flow around an axis in the ejection direction of the first combustion gas at the downstream of the flame plate. Thus, as the second combustion gas becomes the swirl flow and is ejected by the second combustion gas swirling/ejecting means toward primary air ejected from the first combustion gas ejection part to be diffused/mixed, the gas is completely burned.
