Title:
COMBUSTION CATALYST BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62168548
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve ignitability, heat resistance, etc., by weaving a heat resist ant glass fiber into a reticulated form having a specific mesh size and supporting a specific amount of Pt and one or more of Ni, Co and Fe being catalytic components by the woven mesh material.

CONSTITUTION: Heat resistant glass fiber filaments with silica content of 70% or more are bundled to constitute a yarn which is, in turn, woven into a reticu lated form having a thickness of 0.2W0.7mm and a mesh size of 8W32 mesh. Subsequently, 0.3W6wt% of platinum and 0.5W20wt% on a metal basis of at least one component selected from nickel, cobalt, iron and oxide thereof are supported as catalytic components by the woven mesh material to prepare a combustion catalyst. This catalyst can develop characteristics such as ignitabili ty, temp. rising property, heat resistance (flexibility), etc., excelling that of platinum alone.
