Title:
COMBUSTION CHAMBER STRUCTURE FOR DIRECT-INJECTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016121631
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion chamber structure for a direct-injection engine constructed to form a mixture layer and a heat insulation gas layer in a combustion chamber constructed by a cavity, which inhibits fuel spray injected at a predetermined spray angle from contacting the wall face of the cavity because the fuel spray has a longer flying distance in a specified direction.SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve 6 is arranged in a ceiling part 170 of a cylinder head, and the front end of a discharge electrode (an ignition plug 7) is arranged adjacent to the injection front end thereof. In the ceiling part, a recess 131 is provided for storing the front end of the discharge electrode. The center of a cavity 163 provided in a piston 16 is shifted from the bore center of a cylinder. The fuel injection valve is constructed so that the center axis of the fuel spray injected at a predetermined spray angle is inclined with respect to a line between the center of the cavity when the piston is at a top dead center and the injection front end, in the direction of approaching the front end of the discharge electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
