Abstract:
To improve the homogeneity of air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber 5 of an engine.SOLUTION: A passage forming member 9 is provided for allowing fuel spray injected from part of injection holes 8 of a fuel injection nozzle 7 to pass therethrough and to be jetted to a peripheral wall 5b of a combustion chamber 5. Fuel spray 21 injected from the remaining injection hole 8 is allowed to reach the peripheral wall 5b of the combustion chamber 5 without being allowed to pass through the passage forming member 9. The passage forming member 9 includes a key passage 13 into which the fuel spray 21 injected from the injection hole 8 enters, and a first passage 14 and a second passage branching from the key passage 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
